How do I remove some of the videos from my
iPhone to free up space? I don’t want to delete
them anywhere else.
Start by going to Settings > Photos and selecting
Optimize iPhone Storage. The original high-resolution
versions of your videos and photos will be preserved
in iCloud, while smaller, low-resolution versions will
be stored on your iPhone.
If this doesn’t free enough space, I recommend
moving them from iCloud Photo Library to a different cloud-based service like Dropbox so you can
delete them but still access them from your phone
or computer whenever you like.
While using Google Maps on my iPhone, I accidentally called 911 after touching the screen to
start the app. I don’t know how this happened.
Any thoughts or tips for avoiding this in the
Sending Out an SOS
It’s likely that you unintentionally activated Emergency SOS, which calls your local emergency
service when you hold down the Side button and
a volume button at the same time, and that you
just happened to be looking at Google Maps at the
time. It’s a common problem since those buttons
are located where most of us tend to grab on to
our phones. Go to Settings > Emergency SOS >
and turn off Auto Call. Emergency SOS will still be
activated using the same buttons, but the call will
no longer be placed automatically.

I subscribe to i Tunes Match and have created a
playlist of 254 songs on my MacBook Pro. Once I
download the playlist to my iPhone, how long do
the songs stay on my phone? Will I have enough
space with my free 5 GB of iCloud storage?
You can store up to 100,000 songs on all your
Apple devices with an i Tunes Match subscription
and it is separate from your iCloud storage. Once
you have downloaded the playlist, the songs will
stay on your iPhone until you delete the downloads. The exception to this is if you have enabled
Optimize Storage in the Music settings of the
Settings app. This feature automatically removes
songs you haven’t listened to in a while once the
amount of music you have on your iPhone exceeds
the designated amount of storage you have set.
